There is no other comprehensive exhibition of Japanese culture representing the world except “Japan Expo Paris,” which has mobilized more than 250,000 people. Today, Japanese products are positioned as a market they should enter first in order to expand overseas. “WABI SABI (WABI SABI)” operated by our corporation is the largest and only official pavilion in the tradition and regional culture category within the Japan Expo Paris.

When the long-established Japanese tea specialty store “Tokyo Shigetaen Tea Shop” announced that it was planning to expand in France for the first time in 124 years, crowdfunding to raise funds was achieved in 11 days. They shared their stories about the response after the exhibition and the new developments gained through that connection.

In 2024/12, a party was held by the Japan Expo organizers at a restaurant in the basement of Minato Ward, Tokyo. The guests are performers who usually entertain visitors on stage in Paris, France. It was filled with so gorgeous people that they couldn't lose to the sparkling chandeliers. I will report on the situation for the day.

Europe's largest Japanese event “Japan Expo Paris (Japan Expo Paris)”. 2024 was a four-day period from July 11th to 14th, and over 200,000 Japanese fans gathered from all over the world. The number of visitors and sales to the traditional culture pavilion “WABI SABI” is the highest ever. We achieved 150% compared to the previous year. I will look back on these situations.

“Japan Expo Paris” is Europe's biggest festival of Japanese culture. Of these, the official pavilion “WABI SABI” featured by our corporation has a theme every year. The venue is presented according to the theme, and can be presented as a set with emphasis in French. Remembering that only guests who have visited the venue can see will be shown in Japanese this time!

Message from “Kumamon” loved around the world

It was born as a PR mascot character for Kumamoto Prefecture, and now its range of dispatch extends beyond prefectures and countries, and is gaining popularity all over the world. What was the reason for that? We spoke with Mr. Hiroki Takeda from the Kumamoto Governor's Office and Kumamon Group (at the time of the interview). It seems to be “Kumamon's subordinate.” A smiling face holding a handwritten message from Kumamon (?) I received the images too!

I was surprised to hear that in recent years there are children who don't know about teapots. It seems that some children are surprised that the tea is warm. There seems to be an effect of the spread of PET bottles, but tea is closely related to our Japanese lives. The head office of “Tokyo Shigetaen Tea Shop” is located in Asagaya, Tokyo. We asked Mr. Shigeta Minoru, the 3rd generation, to talk about the ancient, modern, east, and west tea.
