Local government officials from various regions, from Kyushu to Tohoku, participated in the briefing session for local governments held this time.
First, the Japan Promotion Association gave a specific overview for next year's exhibition, and then 4 groups of local government representatives who exhibited at “WABI-SABI” in 2016 took the stage and talked about the local situation and response.

Local government representatives from Kumamoto Prefecture, Oyabe City in Toyama Prefecture, Namerikawa City in Toyama Prefecture, and Susaki City in Kochi Prefecture were invited as guest speakers. At this event, which the world is paying attention to, heated discussions were held about what to aim for and how to work on it, and why we continue to disseminate culture.

Regarding local characters that are becoming more popular year by year in Paris, there are also strong comments with an eye on the future, saying “making the world aware of Japanese culture and the appeal of the region through local characters will lead to a richer local community.”
