From Friday, December 5 to Monday, December 8, 2025, Japan Promotion supported local governments' tourism PR exhibits at "MANGA BARCELONA 2025," Spain's largest Japan event held in Barcelona.
We present an overseas promotion case study where regional information was disseminated to approximately 160,000 Japan fans.

Approximately 167,000 people attended over four days.Manga BarcelonaThis event, which attracts many visitors interested in Japanese culture through manga and anime, draws a demographic that can be considered a significant pool for future inbound tourism demand to Japan.
In response to the event organizer's request, Japan Promotion operated the Japanese culture pavilion "NAGOMI"Within this pavilion, we supported local governments' tourism PR exhibits.
Japan Promotion provides consistent support from exhibition preparation to post-event follow-up. We create an environment where local governments unfamiliar with overseas exhibitions can participate with confidence, offering everything from material shipping information and securing local staff to creating necessary promotional materials and designing sales operations.
Since Japan Promotion handles all coordination with the organizers, local government representatives can focus entirely on promoting their region's appeal.
Among foreigners visiting Hiroshima, Spaniards are the most numerous..
Spain, a country where many were hurt during the "Spanish Civil War" that divided the nation in the 1930s, has a strong desire for peace. The fact that Spaniards are the most frequent foreign visitors to Hiroshima is likely because Hiroshima is known as a "city that prays for peace" and is easily incorporated into their Japan travel itineraries.
While there is already a strong track record of visits, there is still room to deepen the visitor experience.
Hiroshima Prefecture set up a booth to disseminate tourism information and local specialties, aiming to introduce even more attractions to Spaniards who are already familiar with the prefecture and encourage them to enjoy their stays more. Although they adopted an "information-focused" approach without sales or hands-on experience corners, they reported a greater-than-expected response, with "many people showing interest and listening attentively."
This case study showed a certain level of success in fostering motivation for longer stays by leveraging existing awareness.

Kagawa Prefecture has been attracting attention from international tourists in recent years, thanks to an increase in direct flights from overseas and events like the Setouchi Triennale..
For this exhibition, we implemented initiatives not only to convey the region's tourism resources but also to allow visitors to experience its charm firsthand.
To promote the prefecture's appeal, focusing on a special accommodation plan within Marugame Castle, a booth was set up where visitors could experience making "Marugame Uchiwa," a traditional craft of the region. This became a memorable, participatory tourism PR event, allowing attendees to create their own original fans.
Although there were some initial struggles to attract visitors at the start of the event, the latter half saw continuous activity as people stopped to watch the fan-making process and became interested. The ability to create a flow from experience to empathy to dissemination served as an excellent example of the effectiveness of experiential content in overseas PR.

Kumamon, Kumamoto Prefecture's PR character, was eagerly requested by the organizers to attend this event.
Our organization handled various adjustments between Kumamoto Prefecture and the event organizers, from the initial offer to Kumamon to his actual appearance at the event.
