The official pavilion “WABI SABI” of “Japan Expo Paris” presented by our corporation has a theme every year. The Inside of the Pavilion is presented according to the theme, and the modeling can be decorated with attractions and sets in French made for visitors.

This year's theme is “indigo.”

Deep Ocean, at the End of the Universe, is a color that envelopes silence and mystery — indigo.

Another name for indigo is “Japan Blue.” In the Kamakura period, dark blue was called “brown,” and it carried good fortune as a “winning color” (the color of victory). It is known that samurai invented to use blue for sword braces, and they are still used in kendo uniforms.

Indigo dyeing, which highlights its peak in the Edo period, is still popular among people, such as traditional Japanese yukata and goodwill, traditional manufacturing methods and techniques have been Passed Down by Craftsmen.
