In October 2025, Art Shopping Paris (Autumn Edition) was held at the Carrousel du Louvre, a complex directly connected to the Louvre Museum in the heart of Paris, bringing together a diverse range of works from France, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond.

This year, our organization once again supported the participation of approximately 120 Japanese artists, showcasing Japanese art from our booths located near the main hall entrances.

Large Crowds from the Opening Party

Located in the heart of Paris and directly connected to the Louvre, the venue attracts a wide range of visitors—from students and young couples with children to elderly couples—all looking for affordable art.

The relaxed atmosphere of the visitors was a testament to how deeply art is rooted in daily life in France.

Once again, our organization supported the participation of Japanese artists. We set up booths in the area directly facing the main entrance and along the main hall thoroughfare, presenting the works of 121 artists to the world.

A Successful Event Despite a High-Profile Heist

On the morning of the final day, a robbery occurred at the adjacent Louvre Museum, where Napoleon’s jewelry was stolen. The museum was forced to close immediately, causing temporary congestion in the surrounding area as people were evacuated.

Fortunately, it was determined that the Carrousel du Louvre could remain open, and the event proceeded as scheduled until the end.

A Report on the Three-Day Art Celebration: Art Shopping Paris

Over the course of the three-day event, the fair showcased a quintessential Parisian art scene, from the glamorous opening on the first day to the bustling crowds throughout the weekend.

Opening Day: Where Art and Connection Resonate at the Vernissage

A Vernissage Moment Where Music and Art Harmonize

Art Shopping is more than just an art fair for buying and selling works.

The first night kicks off with an opening party, known in France as a "vernissage," a tradition dating back many years.
It is an exclusive opportunity for invited guests to enjoy artwork alongside champagne and wine, drawing such a large crowd that it is often difficult to walk through the venue.
From French pop to jazz, live music and vocals further elevated the celebratory mood of the venue.

Taking advantage of the privilege of seeing the works before the general public, some guests kept a sharp eye out for pieces that caught their interest, even promising, "I'll come back to pick this up on the final day."

From Day Two to the Finale: A Parisian Weekend Filled with Energy and Encounters

A venue where diverse perspectives intersect. Dialogue through art sparks new discoveries.

On Saturday and Sunday, the final day, the pace slows, allowing more people to appreciate the works and carefully consider their purchases. Many visitors didn't just look at the pieces that caught their eye at first glance; they took their time exploring the surrounding works with the help of staff explanations, clearly enjoying the unexpected discoveries and the emotional impact of encountering such a diverse range of art.

A hallmark of visitors at French art fairs is that they don't just listen to explanations—they share their own thoughts and perspectives in their own words.

Combined with the diversity of the attendees, the ability to engage directly with a wide variety of viewpoints is a defining feature of art fairs in Paris.

Reactions to Japanese Artists' Work at a Paris Art Fair

In a city like Paris, where the demand for art is so high, we caught glimpses of the strong interest in works by Japanese artists.

Visitors gathered around Japanese works, observing them with careful attention.

Words of Admiration from Visitors

This year, we featured approximately 120 artists with a wide variety of techniques and expressions. Many visitors expressed their admiration for these unique, individual worlds of art, with comments like, "It's one-of-a-kind and highly original," and "Just looking at it, you can feel the weight of the deep thought and craftsmanship behind it."

Some visitors shared that an abstract painting of a woman made them feel "a sense of loneliness," while others felt the same painting was "peaceful, like a portrait of someone in love." A professional gallerist even praised an embroidered piece, calling it "truly inspiring."

One young male visitor remarked, "Japanese art is fascinating because it connects the mundane with the extraordinary," reflecting a high level of interest in Japanese culture itself.

The Stories Behind the Purchases

Our buyers have diverse tastes and motivations. Some purchased illustrations as gifts for their daughters, others added sculptures to their growing collections, and some chose pieces to decorate their new apartments. Each person made a unique, once-in-a-lifetime connection with the work they decided to take home.

One buyer shared their appreciation with the artist, saying, "I want to thank you for enriching my life so deeply and for allowing me to clearly receive the elements you poured into your work."

New opportunities through media and professional connections

Among the visitors were members of the art media. We saw developments that went beyond the exhibition itself, such as requests to contact artists or feature their work, and even on-site interviews. Encountering these kinds of opportunities is one of the great appeals of exhibiting at an art fair.
