“World Art Dubai (World Art Dubai)” is one of the largest contemporary art fairs in the Middle East. Over 400 galleries and artists from over 65 countries will participate, and over 10,000 works will be exhibited.
This exhibition, which was held the other day, has a larger venue area than last year when it celebrated its 10th anniversary, and is even more powerful! I will report on the state of this fair, which lists “More than just an art fair (more than just an art fair).”
Event name: World Art Dubai 2025
Period: 2025/4/17 (Thu) to 4/20 (Sun) *16 (Wed) Open to invited guests only
Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre Hall 1 & Za'abeel Halls 1, 2 & 3
An evolving international art fair
World Art Dubai is an international exhibition center that has supported Dubai's development, and has been held across 3 halls every year. Another hall was added this year, and paintings, sculptures, and installations from around the world were exhibited on the largest scale ever.
On the stage in the center of the venue, events such as live art performances, lectures on artist activities, and “art walks” to promote works were held throughout the day, and visitors and artists worked together to liven up the venue.

The royal family also attended on the first day
Since it is only one of the largest art fairs in the Middle East, this fair also has a high level of attention. On the first day of opening to the public, Princess Latifah Al Maktoum attended the venue on behalf of the royal family.
Latifah, who also serves as the president of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), says she also has a strong interest in Japanese culture. When they stopped by our corporate area, which is the official exhibition window from Japan, they said, “We are always inspired by Japanese art.”

Disseminating a wide range of Japanese art
At our booth, which was exhibited with 35 groups of artists, we introduced a wide range of Japanese art, from works using traditional Japanese techniques such as Japanese painting and calligraphy, to works full of momentum reminiscent of street art, and contemporary genres such as anime-style works that are popular even in Dubai.
There are also people who have greatly increased their followers on social media through active communication with visitors. Among the fairs full of diverse tastes from various countries, there were also people who revisited it because they were interested in the richness and depth of the variety, saying “this booth is the most interesting.”

International high-end class visitors
People from all over the world gather in Dubai against the backdrop of this remarkable growth. There were people from all over the world, from England, Italy, Russia, India, China, etc., from local people dressed in national costumes to this art fair.
The fair also features a wide range of visitors, including exclusive buyers from wealthy groups, local galleries, and those “looking for big works,” to families and students. In particular, the number of visitors increased over the weekend, and there were also scenes where specific purchases were being considered.

The deciding factor for a purchase is “love at first sight”
The person who decided to buy “Love at First Sight” was JAPAN PROMOTION FRONT ARTIST (Japan Promotion Front Artist). A work by Maria Mimori who was exhibited as (Common name: JPFA). They liked it, saying “I feel a calm balance within the minimalistic aesthetic,” and they immediately purchased 2 works (approximately 700,000 yen in total).
The couple seemed to have decided to buy it even before they heard the detailed explanation about the work. It was the moment I felt that the artist's attitude and thoughts were truly conveyed through the work.
