Continued development of exhibitions in Taipei, Taiwan
“JAPAN ART WEEK IN BREEZE” is set in Taipei, the heart of Taiwan. Did you know that this city has been bustling as a global hub in recent years? In particular, it is a center for semiconductor business, and the market is booming due to vigorous development and investment by multinational companies expanding into Asia, and stable economic growth continues. In addition to foreign residents, there are many people with deep knowledge of different languages and diverse cultures, which only increases its appeal in many areas.
Investment in art, emissions of international artists
Increase in disposable income as the economy develops. In Taipei, where there is such a background, interest in art collections is growing, and investment in art by wealthy people and collectors is particularly thriving. Investments have improved artist activities, and in turn, brands in the Taipei art market, creating a virtuous cycle of attracting further investment and an influx of collectors.

Popular department store popular with Taiwanese celebrities
Among department stores and shopping centers lined up in bustling Taipei, “Breeze Center” has an overwhelming presence in terms of topicality, advancement, and customer base. Positioned as the main store of the “Breeze” Group, which has 9 stores, starting with the same facility in Taipei, it is a large complex facility where you can enjoy not only shopping for high foreign brands, but also food and movies. Many famous people have become billboards, and the image of “celebrity customers” has become established mainly in the media and SNS. This “JAPAN ART WEEK in Breeze” will be held at the exhibition hall on the upper floor of the Breeze Center.

“Breeze Center”
The main venue is the exhibition hall “Breeze MEGA Studio” located on the 8th floor. A space of approximately 600 square meters will be constructed according to art fair specifications to create a venue that enables full-scale art exhibitions. There, works by selected artists will be exhibited and sold. During the period, “Taiwan Kinokuniya Bookstore,” which is also on the 5th floor of the Breeze Center, will be a satellite venue, and goods from artists on display at the main venue will be sold, and workshops will be held in the store. Since it is a store that sells Japanese books and comics and is known as one of the centers for disseminating Japanese culture, it is expected that many people familiar with Japan will visit. Efforts at different locations will enable a synergistic and wide-ranging approach to Taiwanese art fans and Breeze customers.

“Art Kaohsiung 2022” received a warm welcome
Actually, this is the second time our corporation has introduced Japanese art in Taiwan. In November 2022, I participated in the art fair “Art Kaohsiung 2022” held in Kaohsiung, the core city of the south. What left a particular impression on me was the warmth of the Taiwanese people. Starting with the fair organizers' heartfelt hospitality, the VIPs and visitors talking openly about art made me feel not only a pro-Japanese country, but also the good personality of everyone in Taiwan. High-level art fairs and international exhibitions are regularly held in Taipei, and the Taiwanese government is also putting effort into cultural promotion, so we are actively supporting the growth of such projects. Taiwan attracted attention during the presidential election the other day. It ended with the victory of the party that advocated being the “Taiwan of the world,” and expectations are growing for the development of a market open to the world in the future.
