Free trade was promoted around the world's largest artificial port called “Jebel Ali,” and it spanned 4 days from 2023/3/9 (Thu) to 12 (Sun) in Dubai, the city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is now even called the center of the Middle East economy”World Art Dubai 2023” was held.
Dubai was the first to relax and abolish immigration restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic situation has remained steady even after the “Dubai Expo (2021/10 to March of the following year),” which attracted a lot of attention, and continues to grow remarkably day by day. Also, it is known as a particularly safe city worldwide, and it surpassed Japan to rank 7th (Japan is 10th) in the safety ranking (2019) announced by the “World Economic Forum.” It is also one of the reasons why so many wealthy people from various countries gather.
rich and safe. This year's event was held in such a wonderful environmentWorld Art DubaiMore than 300 exhibitors and approximately 7,000 works from 50 countries around the world were exhibited, and the venue was filled with more visitors than last year, which was a record high.
Among them, we, “Japan Promotion, Inc.”World Art DubaiAs an official partner, we fully support the exhibitions of a total of 53 groups and 1 group of Japanese artists. World Art Dubai 2023 -World Art Dubai-Period: 2022/3/9 (Thu) to 12 (Sun) Venue: DUBAI WORLD TRADE CENTRE Organizer: DUBAI WORLD TRADE CENTRE Official Website:https://www.worldartdubai.com

Worl Art Dubai“DUBAI WORLD TRADE CENTRE,” which became the venue, is one of Dubai's leading event spaces with a total of over 3 million visitors per year. The average temperature during the exhibition was around 24 degrees. While feeling the humidity peculiar to tropical countries outside the building, we were blessed with such a comfortable climate that I didn't sweat when moving. Of course, the building is fully air conditioned.
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Director Her Excellency Hala Badri also attended

On March 9, which was the first day, a preview will be held where only VIP guests, starting with the royal family, can enter from 19:00 when the public was closed. Starting with Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, DUBAI CALTURE Fine Art Division Director Khalil Abdulwahid Hassan, and famous Dubai artist Ahmad Rukni Al Awadhi also attended. Many famous collectors also visited the Japan Promotion booth.

Even after the second day, VIPs visited one after another, such as Mr. Fatma Rashed, the president of the textile products trading company, Mr. Rebecca Arnold (Bahrain), the former CEO of Mall of Dilmunia (Bahrain), and Mr. Naoya Morishita, the manager of the Kinokuniya Bookstore Dubai store. The venue was always filled with a glamorous atmosphere.
Even so, what surprised me was the gorgeous luxury of the cars that the visitors rode in... The sight of luxury cars and supercars, which are hard to see in Japan, being placed side by side in a trade center parking space just like a regular car is truly impressive. It's like coming to a global film festival.
Enthusiastic art fans from all over the world gathered at the venue
This year, the booth had the largest space for individual artists and became the main booth in the JAPAN TIDE zone. The world of beauty woven by these delicate flower works and the series of artworks using unique techniques received many compliments and evaluations not only from the Middle East, but also from customers and important people from various countries who visited the exhibition.

The number of visitors increased rapidly on the 3rd and 4th days, which were Saturdays and Sundays!

A local artist told us that he was fascinated by the delicate touch unique to Japanese people. A Russian couple told me that they are genuinely attracted to works with festival motifs. Also, Filipino women said, “I love it!” to the happy atmosphere created by an artist's work I was so excited, saying, “I can't stand it anymore.”

Disseminating traditional crafts from Tokyo to people around the world!
At this event, continuing from JapanEXPO held in Paris, France, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government project shines light on traditional crafts and conveys the appeal of craftsmanship's delicate “handwork” to the world.”Tokyo handicraft” set up booths for all 8 businesses and exhibited. People from the Tokyo Small and Medium Business Promotion Corporation, which oversees this project, also traveled and made efforts to promote sales together with businesses.

The spectacular stage performance was also very popular!
Japan Promotion also supports art performances by artists who have exhibited this time! In addition to participating in the art walk, solo performances by artists were held over a total of 7 times, and all of them were so popular that there were large crowds. Even after the end, many visitors were asked to take commemorative photos, and the participating artists as well as the management staff were surprised by the excitement that went beyond that expectation... The interest in Japanese art is real.

Talk shows and workshops will also be held ♪
Workshops by artists will also be held. Due to the convenience of securing work space, many visitors, mainly local children, visited the venue on a first-come, first-served basis, and created various works together with the artists with wonderful smiles without worrying about the long wait time.
Also, this time, “MANGA/ANIME ZONE,” which introduces the appeal of Japanese manga and anime culture, was newly established within the venue, and in addition to disseminating information at the booth, a talk show by Yoko Kawasaki, an animator involved in the production of anime representing Japan, “Star of the Giants,” “Doctor Slump Arale-chan,” and “The Rose of Versailles,” and a workshop by manga artist Yuko Sugiyama will be held. This one also became very popular.

Of course, there are many works that were contracted during the exhibition period as well as after the exhibition
Many visitors visited the Japan Promotion booth, and it was seen that a number of unique works were being examined, and there were cases where contracts were concluded on the same day. Also, many stories have been received that inquiries were made after the exhibition period, and contracts were concluded.

After the session
”World Art Dubai 2023” was successfully brought to an end thanks to the efforts of everyone, including the exhibiting artists. Our corporation will continue to make efforts to participate in attractive art fairs in the future, so thank you for your cooperation.
Finally, I would like to borrow the words of the artists who exhibited this time. “I can't speak English, and the artists and visitors around me treated me very kindly, and I felt 'peace' from the bottom of my heart.”
The war in Ukraine is not over yet. There continues to be a situation where it is impossible to say that the world is at peace, but at this World Art Dubai venue, there was certainly an “everyday life where you can enjoy pure art” that transcended language differences, borders, and religion. I'm really happy about this. Thank you all.
