At the forefront of NY art, from Tribeca to the World—One Art Space Gallery

New York, which is known as the center of art, is dotted with areas where galleries such as Chelsea, Soho, and the Lower East Side are concentrated, and you can experience a wide variety of expressions, from masterpieces of contemporary art to works reflecting street culture. Among the cities with such diverse charms, Tribeca in southern Manhattan is currently attracting particular attention.

It originally developed as a business area adjacent to Wall Street, but in recent years it has also had an aspect of being a high-class residential area where Hollywood actors and famous creators live due to its easy accessibility and calm cityscape. As regional redevelopment progresses, sophisticated shops, popular restaurants, cafes, etc. are appearing one after another, and the entire city has been stylishly reborn.

Furthermore, with the relocation of famous galleries, the expansion of art spaces has also accelerated. Tribeca is now establishing itself as a new “art city.”
At the center of this is the “One Art Space Gallery.”

The time and thoughts put into the work attract the gaze of visitors

Light and color from traveling the world gather in New York

In April 2023, after two and a half years of COVID-19, Noriko Miyauchi's solo exhibition “Surrender to Color” was held in New York.

Mr. Miyauchi is an oil painter who draws images that come to mind with beautiful colors and a generous touch reminiscent of the trajectory of light. Abstract and figurative elements coexist in the work, such as intertwined strings, cleverly arranged mosaic patterns, and the surface of the water at the edge of the waves, and invite viewers into a world of imagination. The sense of balance and color expression, which perfectly harmonizes concrete images with abstract spaces, brings “emotional fluctuations” to the viewer and evokes diverse feelings of peace and elation.

In this exhibition, 22 works that have traveled the world to Tokyo, Paris, and Dubai met in one place and brightly colored the streets of New York. A number of imaginary scenes born from Mr. Miyauchi's unique point of view were exhibited that deeply resonated with the hearts of visitors.
