Everyone has probably heard of the Ueno Royal Museum at least once. A solo exhibition by artist Eimizu was held at the annex gallery. I will tell you about the state of the venue, etc., including the reactions of the visitors.
Period: 2023/4/20 (Thu) -26 (Wed)
Venue: Ueno Royal Museum Annex Gallery 1-2 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo 110-0007
Ueno Onshi Park, a place of relaxation for approximately 3 million people a year
The Ueno Royal Museum is located inside Ueno Onshi Park (commonly known as Ueno Park), a city park representing Japan. This park was in the precincts of Toeizan Kanei-ji Temple during the Edo period, but it became government land after the Meiji Restoration, and was given to Tokyo City via the Ministry of the Imperial Household in Taisho 13 (1924), so it is named “blessing.”
Historic and cultural facilities such as multiple art galleries, museums, zoos, and shrines are gathered, and it is also known as a famous place where approximately 1000 cherry trees bloom in spring. It is a place of relaxation loved by many people due to its diverse appeal, and the number of annual users rises to about 3 million people (2021).

Ueno Royal Museum Annex Gallery
The Ueno Royal Museum is a facility that mainly hosts contemporary art, open call exhibitions, and special exhibitions, and apart from its main building, there is an exhibition space called a “gallery.” Solo and group exhibitions are held, and it is used as a place for presentations by up-and-coming artists. Compared to the events in the main building, it is characterized by being close to artists.

Grain Rain and Rain of Blessings: Buddha's words and finale
The person who opened the solo exhibition was Eisui (Eisui), a painter who creates ceiling paintings and dramatic paintings for temples that transcend denominations. He is an artist searching for new Buddhist paintings that resonate with people living today, and has been holding exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
This time, 26 works will be exhibited on the theme of the twenty-fourth season “grain rain,” which represents the time when the rain of blessings falls. Starting with the core work “Renge Senju Kannon,” which adorns the venue, “Baby Buddha” and “Tenpho Ring Seal Series,” etc. were unveiled.
Groups that came to the venue by large bus from afar and his SNS followers rushed in, and it was so crowded that it was almost full from day one. Regardless of age, gender, or nationality, the participants all had a calm expression and took the “Buddha's words” drawn by him seriously.
A talk and autograph session will also be held during the exhibition to commemorate the release of the art book. Orders for over 120 books have been achieved, and sales of goods have also been strong. Everyone, centered around Mr.'s family, worked together to deal with the buyer.
The rain, which had never fallen since the solo exhibition began, fell on Ueno Forest on the last day as if celebrating the finale. The sense of peace and security that he conveyed through his work is a “rain of grain” for people. There is no doubt that the visitors have stored plenty of water and nutrients, and are vigorously advancing to the next stage.
