What is the traditional and regional culture pavilion “Miyabi Miyabi”

”Miyabi Miyabi” Pavilion is a showcase brand that provides high-quality traditional cultural experiences, developed by Japan Promotion in various countries, starting with London. Not only do they sell products, such as calligraphy, art, and handicrafts that make use of materials and craftsmanship unique to Japan, they are also developing a wide range of products, including participatory workshops and demonstrations by craftsmen.
“Japanese manufacturing” is attracting attention in London, an international city where “good products” from around the world gather

Japanese culture is now recognized as a trend in Europe. Above all, London is known as a city active in disseminating and spreading Japanese culture, as the “Japan House” established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened on Kensington High Street in June this year.
”Miyabi Miyabi” This year, which is the fourth year of the event, we will welcome Japanese fans visiting the venue with a variety of contents, such as items that have been attractively sublimated as a new Japanese culture, and vivid and energetic stage performances that convey the techniques and beauty of traditional performing arts, and strongly promote the appeal of Japanese culture.

Disseminating a new sense of Japanese products to the world!
This year's”Miyabi Miyabi” has plenty of unique items that make you feel fresh and appealing!
Here are just a few of them.
◎ shamisen

I want to convey more of the appeal of the traditional Japanese instrument, the shamisen, to the present day and the future! With that in mind, manufacturing began using a unique technique. The original shamisen made using the latest technology is easy to maintain and has plenty of designs. Also pay attention to artistic masterpieces designed by Japanese illustrators active around the world.
◎ loincloth

A “modern loincloth” that combines ease of handling and comfort suitable for modern people. We are particular about materials and will be developed in a wide variety of ways, such as flowers that grow naturally in the author's hometown, Kochi Prefecture, and indigo-dyed cloth using natural materials cultivated without pesticides.
◎ kokeshi

A unique and new “kokeshi” with a pop design that sets it apart from the traditional kokeshi that everyone imagines. Scraps of wood from shipyards in the Seto Inland Sea were reused, carefully scraped and polished one by one, and reborn into a new shape. You can also create a one-of-a-kind original kokeshi by writing faces and messages with chalk.
◎ Mamemoto

We are developing mamemoto, folded, and Japanese-bound notebooks with the theme of “Japanese,” and notebooks with the traditional Japanese binding “rechoshou”. The cover uses brightly colored Japanese paper or kimono cloth, and the contents of the notebook are made of washi that can be written with a ballpoint pen.
◎ washcloth

A light and pleasant to the touch hand towel using traditional techniques such as injection dyeing. The stylish and heartwarming design, interspersed with adorable motifs, adds color to everyday life.
◎ Kiriko

Cut pieces of various sizes with delicate Japanese geometric patterns engraved on transparent glass vessels. It is a traditional craft that now enjoys steady popularity in countries around the world. Japanese craftsmanship shines everywhere, such as beautiful vessels with a chrysanthemum pattern that requires high technology, and collaborative works with lacquer craftsmen.

The venue is the exhibition venue “Olympia London” located on the west side of Kensington High Street. Familiar as an exhibition facility with a history of over 130 years, “Miyabi MIYABI” creates an attractive experience space where anyone can easily enjoy authentic Japanese culture by introducing a variety of Japanese content on this large stage where many major events in London are held throughout the year.
