In the UAE, this year, which is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the founding father Sheikh Zayed, is “the Year of Zayed,” and various commemorative projects are being developed.

As part of this, a project to install public art in the UAE emirates, starting with Abu Dhabi, has begun under the auspices of Aldar Properties PJSC, a real estate/urban development/investment company in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and an inspection team composed of experts in various fields will be dispatched to Japan.

Beginning with public art training in Tokyo, such as “TOKAS Hongo (TOKAS Hongo)” and “Japan Traffic Culture Association,” coverage, workshops, and fieldwork will be carried out at major cultural institutions, museums, craft workshops, etc. in various regions such as Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kanazawa.

The members of the inspection team were led by Sheikha Al-Kitabi, development director of Abu Dhabi's government cultural agency “Abu Dhabi Culture and Tourism Authority (TCA)”, led by interior designer Raisa Alqitabi, financial consultant Maryam Almaamari, cultural consultant Haroud Al-Atiyat, and curator Munira, who has worked on numerous famous exhibitions such as the Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi 5 people including Mr. Alsaig.

In the UAE, there are many pro-Japanese families, starting with the late Sheikh Zayed, and interest in Japanese technology, education, culture, etc. is also high, and the government is actively trying to incorporate Japan's strengths into its own country. However, the current situation is that there are still few cultural exchange projects between the two countries.
Under such circumstances, this project also plays a role as a valuable exchange project to deepen mutual understanding between the two countries.

After the Tokyo training, the inspection team visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall, Naoshima's Chichu Art Museum, Kyoto Gold Leaf Craft Workshop, Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, etc. from 23rd (Friday), and went back to Tokyo on the last day. It concludes with an animation studio tour and traditional culture experience.

Based on these research results in Japan, after returning to Abu Dhabi, they will be involved in the production and supervision of a group of public art works, and it is a very important inspection program.
