Yasushi Kawamura “Respecting Nature and Desiring Peace”

A collection of works by Kawamura Yasushi, who has established innovative photographic expressions by making full use of light manipulation and experimental methods. It was published in conjunction with his solo exhibition “Desire for Peace” held at the Galerie Orchamps in Paris, the capital of art.
In the “Paper Cranes of Peace” series, text such as newspapers and constitutional provisions are fused with light to create a fantastic space where paper cranes and stars emerge. It contains a strong message praying for peace and questioning Japan's position.
The work includes installation elements and presents a new form of art that combines photography and spatial art. Familiar motifs such as flowers, insects, and reflective water surfaces also express the brilliance of life from a cosmic perspective. With compositions, margins, and silhouettes like ink, which are reminiscent of traditional Japanese art, it depicts a landscape that can be called a modern flower and bird painting.
Kawamura's works, in which light and space are sublimated into abstraction, stimulate the viewer's imagination and evoke deep emotion.
