“Gato” is a famous restaurant in Aoyama, Tokyo where you can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine in a space where tradition and modernity are in harmony.
It is also known that they served meals at the “Emperor (current emperor) enthronement feast,” and valuable menus from that time are also displayed inside the store.

Exhibit content

In February's Gato, we are introducing 10 paintings by contemporary artists who continue to express Japan's nature and seasonal changes using ink. The foundation of this avant-garde style is “calligraphy.” While respecting tradition, Japan's natural beauty, expressed in a new form, grabs the hearts of those who see it more than characters, and doesn't let go of it. Please enjoy the world of contemporary art, which combines calligraphy and contemporary expressions.
