What is “Space Meets Art”

Japan Promotion, an incorporated association, manages domestic and international events and exhibitions with the aim of supporting the global activities of those responsible for the “now” of the Japanese arts and culture world. As part of that, this project “Space Meets Art” started in September 2021. A number of attractive and powerful works by Japanese artists are introduced in Shibuya, the epicenter of fashion.

Exhibition space

The venue for this project is Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which is also known as a mecca for creative workers. A modern and stylish bar lounge and guest rooms with a vintage modern concept. The atmosphere is heartwarming, inspired by the image of a “space where creators live.”

Exhibit content

This time, which is the third installment of “Space Meets Art,” I would like to introduce the works of Yama_collage, who continues to be active as an artist and designer with a focus on collage art.

A solo exhibition entitled “Spice.” Five collage works composed of vivid colors and unique designs adorn the Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu bar space.
Inspirations we cannot usually feel can be felt from works that are disassembled and reconstructed to form “new inspiration” inspired by disassembling and reconstructing inspiration that are felt from a variety of familiar motifs.

Born in 1992 in Gunma.
I learned about the fun of collage art through creating collage works with friends in a fun way. In 2014, he began working as an artist based in Gunma. In addition to independent production, he is expanding his field of activity centered around collage works such as event flyer production, CD jacket design, and live painting. “DESIGN FESTA GALLERY” will be exhibited in 2019/2020. He has also held many solo exhibitions. It will also be exhibited at the Paris art fair “Salon Art Shopping Paris” in 2022.
