Introducing the participating artists

① Stay SAKURA Kyoto Fuga x Nakamura Mieko

Nakamura Mieko “Memory”

“Mieko Sumi-e” by Nakamura Mieko is created according to her own sense of beauty, regardless of genre, material, or material. We aim to create works that comprehensively intersperse Japanese cultural elements, such as the spirituality of the tea ceremony, the spatial arrangement, the margins of calligraphy, and the simplicity and clarity of waka poems, and deliver strength, energy, brightness, and humor to the viewer's heart.

Kenji Agata “Flowers”

Kenji Yasukata says that “calligraphy” is not intended to express anything, but rather a form of self-exploration where one finds one's own form in the trajectory of a brush.
His unique genre of expression “Yusai Shoga (Yusai Shoga)” harbors an unconventional, free spirit, such as using bamboo and straw instead of brushes, and wax, acrylic paint, and spray instead of ink.

Yuko Asano “Utagawa Kuniyoshi “Kijijima Yataro West Court Baby Lord”

Artist Asano Yuko expresses the world-famous Japanese traditional art “ukiyo-e” “all by hand” using cloth and thread. After studying Hawaiian quilts for 5 years, it is said that Asano was intensely fascinated by the majestic and gorgeous beauty of Ukiyo-e at an Ukiyo-e exhibition he visited by chance. With a desire to recreate that view of the world with a quilt, production of “Ukiyo-e Kiritoto” began in 2007. We always try to faithfully reproduce the pattern and the author's intention, and have created many elegant works that combine the appeal of the original picture with the texture and warmth unique to quilts.
