Japan Promotion participated in the UAE's leading art fair World Art Dubai this year as part of the Japanese culture dissemination project “JAPAN TIDE,” which has been underway since 2017.
>> “Japanese arts and culture blossom in Dubai, a cutting-edge city that continues to evolve! JAPAN TIDE 2018 in UAE Event Report”
During the four-day exhibition, not only were works sold, but various contracts and offers were realized that will lead to the future of each artist who exhibited from Japan Promotion.
Here's an example of what actually happened at a venue where artists, gallerists, and art fans from all over the world were swirling with art enthusiasm!

“There are many offers not only from the art industry, but also from business development through the financial industry!”

We received requests from business owners who have branch offices in the US, Italy, and the UAE and are developing financial businesses to make copies of the exhibited works. He said that he was genuinely impressed by this work, and he said that he wants to spread this excitement around the world by making use of his own global connections, and that he wants to build good business relationships for that purpose. The ultimate goal is to develop 1000 reproductions in each country.
Additionally, during the exhibition, we received coverage from local TV stations every day, and we also received offers to participate in Dubai auctions and exhibit works in Singapore.
“I'm looking forward to inviting him as a lecturer at a local international school and having a cultural exchange with young people!”

I want the principal of the international school in Dubai who bought the work to give a lecture and production workshop for the students at his own school! I received an offer. On the day of the event, parents of the students will also be invited, and it seems that they would like to hold an exhibition and sale of their works as well.
“Consignment sales have been decided at a Dubai gallery with works by Dali, Chagall, and Yayoi Kusama”

It caught the eye of a gallerist who runs an art gallery in Palm Jumeirah, one of Dubai's leading resort areas, and a contract contract for 3 items was decided from among the works exhibited at World Art Dubai. The Pro Art Gallery, where works will be exhibited, is a top-class gallery in Dubai where works by top artists representing the world, such as Dali, Chagall, Damian Hurst, David LaChapelle, Banksy, Shepard Fairy, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama, are lined up, and I'm very honored this time.
“Sales agreements with major web galleries will soon be realized! The on-site negotiations were also meaningful.”

I received an offer to sell my work at a web gallery operated by ArtSmiley, a gallery based in Dubai. I had the opportunity to have a meeting at the venue during World Art Dubai, and I was able to have a thorough conversation with the person in charge. It looks like it's going to be a contract with very good terms.
“Surprised by the story of recommending an exhibition at the management gallery of the International Medical Center “IRC” in Sharjah”

We received an offer to exhibit at a gallery owned by the medical center IRC (International Radiology Center) in Sharjah. On IRC, it seems that they are doing support activities for people involved in art and culture in a form inspired by the director's daughter who is an artist. They wanted to hold a Japanese art exhibition as part of an international artist exhibition starting in September. It seems that a reception inviting Sharjah royalty and VIPs will also be held during the exhibition.
“I took the chance to go to an exhibition set in Abu Dhabi's premier hotel!”

There was an exhibition plan for 6 weeks starting in September this year at the five-star hotel Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, and I received an offer to exhibit there. There are voices from companies that operate art exhibitions and sales events in partnership not only in Abu Dhabi but also with Dubai hotels, and it seems that the event will get so much attention that Abu Dhabi's public broadcasters come to cover it.
I heard that there will also be an exhibition on the theme “Sheikh Zayed: 100th Birthday” at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi in November. Regarding that, too, we have received inquiries about exhibiting works different from September.
*Sheikh Zayed... known as the “Founding Father of the UAE,” the first president after the founding of the UAE in 1971.

Exhibitions and sales of Japan art at popular high-end Japanese restaurants in Dubai have also been officially decided

The Japanese restaurant “Chrysanthemum” at the five-star hotel Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Center in Dubai has decided to exhibit and sell works by multiple artists who have exhibited at JAPAN ZONE. A project will be launched so that people in Dubai can experience the appeal of art that colors high-quality restaurant spaces along with delicious meals.

The development of a pavilion at the national event “ADIHEX,” where the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi will also attend, is about to be realized!

At Japan Promotion, we received an offer to produce a pavilion stage at ADIHEX (Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition), which is held every September at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Hall. It is a national event where Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamad is often attended as a guest of honor, and last year the number of visitors rose to 100,000 people over 5 days. In addition to many art and crafts being exhibited, items related to traditional UAE falconry and horse riding are also sold, and it is said that the corner introducing Japanese arts and culture is popular every year. We are proceeding with negotiations for new developments for the local royal family and the wealthy.

[The majestic figures of Japanese artists are published in the Dubai Culture Newspaper]

Al Bayan April 19
A report on the first day of World Art Dubai 2018 was published in the cultural newspaper “Al Bayan” representing Dubai, and a large article about JAPAN ZONE and the exhibiting artists was published among them.
Japanese translation (summary):
“Oriental magic”
I visited the Japan booth, which is an annual event. JAPAN ZONE occupies the largest area in “World Art Dubai.” Visiting JAPAN ZONE is a special part of a tour around the World Art Dubai booth.
Every time they visit, visitors can learn about various arts from Japanese culture, which combines tradition and modernity. What I paid attention to in JAPAN ZONE this time was a female ceramic artist. Her work is unique in its aesthetics of color and form, inspired by the colors used in old paintings, such as precious platinum.
